Hello All,
I’d
like to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Deborah Rowan and I am
the new Head Volleyball Coach here at Riverton. Many of you already know who I
am, but for those who don’t, here is a little bit of background.
I have been coaching for 8 years, 1 of those
seasons as an assistant at Westminster College and 3 seasons have been as
Sophmore and Asst. Coach at Riverton. I
played at the collegiate level and had the opportunity to travel to Italy and
Slovenia with 1 of 3 USA volleyball teams.
My coaching philosophy is to provide athletes with
the fundamental skills and knowledge needed to succeed in volleyball AND life
by investing in each athlete, on and off the court, and creating an environment
in which they can learn to problem solve and work together to accomplish goals
as a team and individually.
Amanda
Gubler will be staying with the Riverton volleyball program as Asst. Coach and
will be available to meet at the Parent/Athlete meeting.
There
will be a Parent/Athlete meeting held on Monday, April 23rd at
6:30pm (location to be determined). We would like any and all
players (and their parents) interested in playing volleyball to attend. This is to include
grades 8-11. We will discuss the upcoming Spring/Summer Schedule and touch base
on a few things looking into season. We will have a survey for parents to fill
out and return to us at the meeting. For
those that cannot attend the meeting, we will post information on the blog.
We
will have a few open gyms in May. They will be from 2:30-4:30 Tuesday the 15th
and 22nd and on Thursday the 17th. We will let you know
if anything changes.
Thank
you all for your support of Riverton Volleyball! We are excited for the
upcoming season and look forward to meeting you.
Please feel free to contact me at rivertonhighvball@gmail.com with any questions.
Thank you,
Coach Rowan
